And as the steel turned to smoke and ash
We wanted so much to be somewhere else
A place that existed only in the past
Because we had finally put man before money
A life became more than just cash
Except that no one meant it for good
It was just America
Our lives are worth more than their blood
We wave a flag and hope the bomb drops
Or at least we’re told we should
And so people screamed to go over there and make it clear
That each life lost for us meant ten for them
That, even hurt, we should be feared
But they’ve been bombed for decades
They’ve been killing for thousands of years
And what no one was admitting
Was that over there had come over here
And why do these people hate with such passion?
Why do they kill each other so gladly?
Why is a jacket of C-4 in fashion?
